McMichael Park is owned by the people of Philadelphia.

Everyone is welcome.

Friends of McMichael Park, a volunteer organization, guides efforts by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the nonprofit Fairmount Park Conservancy to maintain and enhance our park.

We welcome groups of 50 or fewer people for picnics, birthday celebrations, and the like.

We don’t take reservations for specific areas of the park, so when you arrive at the park, simply find a congenial spot and set up. After your get-together, please remember that the park doesn’t clean itself, so please clean up after yourselves. If you can’t take litter with you, please put it into the metal trash bins around the periphery of the park. If your event will draw more than 50 people, you may need a permit.

We strongly encourage common courtesy, to other people in the park and to the neighbors who live alongside it. Common courtesy includes cleaning up after your dog, and we provide dog waste bags in two locations. Please dispose of the bags in one of the nearby trash containers.

The City of Philadelphia has established a set of common-sense regulations for park use. Please consult them if you have any questions.
